What do I need to create an account?

To create an account, you’ll need a personal email address and one of the following:

If you’re an AA Member, you’ll need your membership number. This 16 digit number can be found on the back of your membership card, or on your policy documents.

If you have AA insurance, you’ll need your policy number. This can be found on your policy documents.

If your bank account includes AA breakdown cover, you’ll need your account number and sort code. This is so that your bank can confirm your details with us.


Who can create an account?

If you’re the main Member or policy holder, you’ll be able to create an account. You can also create one if you're listed as a joint or family member on a breakdown cover.

You can also create an account if breakdown cover is included with your bank account.

Joint insurance policy holders can’t currently create an account.

What can I do with my account?

  • See all your AA policies in one place

  • View your membership or policy documents

  • Keep tabs on renewal dates

  • Check your cover level

Soon, you'll be able to amend your policies online. In the meantime, if you’d like to make a change, call the relevant team who’ll be happy to help.

How soon can I create an account?

It can take a while for a new membership or insurance policy to be set up on our system after you’ve bought it – so it’s best to wait 24 hours before creating your account.

If it’s been longer than 24 hours and you’re still having trouble, let us know by emailing [email protected].

Can I change my name, address, occupation or vehicle details online?
